Terms of Use
Last updated: June 25, 2026
These Terms of Use describe the rules for using HUD AI, a public chat experience designed to help people find and understand housing-related government information. By accessing or using HUD AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Informational Use Only
HUD AI provides general information about public housing, HUD programs, and related government resources. It is not a substitute for official HUD guidance, legal advice, financial advice, or a final eligibility determination.
Program rules, forms, deadlines, and local availability can change. You should confirm important information with the relevant agency, public housing authority, lender, counselor, or official HUD source before taking action.
2. No Emergency or Case-Specific Service
Do not use HUD AI for emergencies, time-sensitive safety issues, or urgent housing crises. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
HUD AI cannot open, update, or resolve individual cases, applications, inspections, enforcement matters, benefits, loans, or complaints.
3. Your Responsibilities
- Use the service only for lawful purposes.
- Do not submit Social Security numbers, account numbers, passwords, medical records, case numbers, or other sensitive personal information.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, probe, overload, scrape, or bypass security controls on the service.
- Review cited sources and official links before relying on an answer.
4. AI-Generated Responses
Responses may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. HUD AI may summarize public sources, generate explanations, or provide links that require further review.
Use of the service does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, counselor-client, applicant-agency, or other professional relationship.
5. External Websites
HUD AI may link to websites operated by HUD, other government agencies, or third parties. Those websites are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, accessibility statements, and security practices.
6. Availability and Changes
The service may be changed, suspended, limited, or discontinued at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a revised version with a new last-updated date.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties; Limitation of Liability
HUD AI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, HUD AI, including but not limited to reliance on any information provided by the service.
